How to Make this Rich and Creamy Peanut Sauce

Ingredients

  • Creamy Peanut Butter – The star of the dish! I like to use creamy peanut butter but feel free to substitute for crunchy if you prefer that texture.
  • Coconut Aminos – Or soy sauce.
  • Hoisin – Adds the perfect savory element to the dish.
  • Honey – Just the right amount of sweetness!
  • Chili Garlic Sauce – Adjusts measurements to your preferred spice level.
  • Canned Coconut Milk – Brings the sauce together and makes it super creamy!
  • Cornstarch Slurry – Thickens the sauce to desired consistency.

Putting it All Together

My rich and creamy peanut sauce takes only 10 minutes to make! You wont believe something so easy can taste so good!

  1. In a small sauce pan, over low heat, combine peanut butter, coconut aminos, hoisin, honey and chili garlic. Mix well and brings to a low simmer.
  2. Stir in the coconut milk and bring to a low simmer again.
  3. Add in the cornstarch slurry while consistently stirring. Let simmer until the peanut sauce reaches your desired consistency.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 tbsp creamy peanut butter
  • 3 tbso coconut aminos or soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1-2 tbsp chili garlic paste or sriracha
  • cup canned coconut milk I'm using light coconut milk
  • 1 tsp corn starch
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions
 

  • In a small sauce pan, combine the peanut butter, coconut aminos, honey, hoisin sauce and chili garlic paste. Mix well and bring to a low simmer.
  • Add the coconut milk to the sauce mixture, mix well and bring to a low simmer again.
  • Mix together the cornstarch and water to form a slurry. This will help thicken the sauce.
  • Once the sauce has started to simmer, add in the cornstarch slurry mixing consistently until the sauce has thickened. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Adjust the chili garlic sauce to your preferred spice level, or swap it for sriracha if that’s what you have on hand.
  • When adding the cornstarch slurry, stir continuously to ensure a smooth, lump-free sauce.
