Gather Your Ingredients
- Boneless, skinless chicken thighs: I’ve found that these are the best kind of chicken for this recipe. They cook quickly and are so juicy and tender!
- Marinade: It requires a simple marinade of coconut aminos, honey, salt and pepper to give this chicken a little extra flavor. If you have the time, I like to prep this chicken early and let marinate overnight, but 15-30 minutes works great too if you’re short on time!
- Cornstarch: The addition of cornstarch adds that perfect crust to the chicken.
- Avocado Oil: I like avocado oil for its high smoke point for that perfect sear, but any neutral oil of you choice will work.
- Garlic: As the name says, this recipe is deliciously garlicky! I love the addition of garlic to really bring this dish together. Feel free to add more or less garlic to your liking!
- Butter: Perfect addition to sauté that garlic. Adds a little creaminess to the dish.
- Sauce: The sauce consists of chicken stock, honey and coconut aminos. Let those ingredients simmer together to create that sticky mouthwatering sauce!
Step By Step Instructions
First things first…marinate your chicken. Season your chicken with salt and pepper and pour the coconut aminos and honey over your chicken and mix together well. Marinate your chicken anywhere from 15 minutes to overnight.
Prepare your ingredients. Mince your garlic and combine your sauce ingredients of chicken stock, coconut aminos and honey. Mix the cornstarch into the marinated chicken.
Pan sear your chicken. Heat oil in a pan on medium high heat. Once the oil is hot, add your chicken to the pan and cook each side for 4 minutes. Remove the chicken and set aside.

Make your sauce: Start by sautéing the garlic in the butter on medium-low heat until slightly fragrant. Be sure to stir frequently so the garlic does not burn. Add the prepared sauce ingredients and bring to a simmer.
Finish your dish: Add the chicken thighs back into the sauce and let simmer for 6-7 more minutes, flipping the chicken halfway through, until the sauce has thickened and the chicken is cooked through.
Serve: Serve these sticky honey garlic chicken thighs over rice or with your favorite side dish. Don’t forget a drizzle of that delicious and sticky sauce!
